Book the Band!

In a live setting the trio require very little from the venue. One 3 pin 13 amp socket, three square yards of space and a reasonable supply of oxygen. They use two amps, two guitars, two maracas and two drums. Most importantly everybody sings and they do not use a PA.

Fundamentally Lord Rochester is one of the easiest bands to put on, they turn up on time, have a very short soundcheck, have the best looking guitars and are decked out in tartan.

HELLO!

The combo that is Lord Rochester has leapt into a varied arena from nowhere.

Put under pressure to perform at London's Jazz Café as a replacement for the late (and unfortunately at the time, sick) Bo Diddley, Lord Rochester pulled together renowned bassist Lady Muck and Skin Villain Tim to supply a show of covers for those who had already bought tickets. For an unknown reason the show was pulled and so the trio were left with a stunning set and nowhere to play.

This was quickly remedied as they performed in the Spiegeltent at the Edinburgh Festival. This led to a residency in Henry’s Cellar Bar in Edinburgh and they started working on new songs for a proposed album. Gigs soon followed in Glasgow, London, Brussels, Spain and Rotterdam as more songs were added to the repertoire.

And thus HEY! was born ...

Over the next three years, and after a slew of further gigs around Europe, the trio recorded some very live sessions at the legendary Perrotti Studios in Gijon, Spain - some of which can now be heard on their first single and the rest released on an EP released on Saturno Records.
